Welcome back from Thanksgiving! And welcome
into the season we call Advent!
Many of you with younger children made
Advent wreaths a couple of weeks ago. What is it about candlelight that feels
so special? The quiet, dim, and flickering presence of light is so different
from bulbs and screens. It catches our attention immediately and alerts us to
If wreaths are not your thing, what is one small thing you might
change around your household during Advent to make things feel special? What
new habit could invite a bit more quiet? Candles, prayers, fasts, rearrangement
of furniture, weekly "silent hour," shared meals—habits like these
help us let go of our control and invite a pace more humane than frantic, a
time more soulfully attentive.

slower, be attentive? Because research on stress tells us to? Perhaps! But

shout and badger. Join us in bending your ear toward the Lord this Advent.
Invite your family and friends to join you in welcoming our God.
