Partnering with you in your child's formation
Having raised three kids to adulthood, I would like to think I know all about it and really did it well. Let’s just say they all survived, and, by God’s grace, were relatively unscathed! Truth is they were blessed with The World’s Best Mom.
Being a parent can be a challenging endeavor; and many of us, therefore, realize we need to look for help along the way. Cinde and I took advantage of many books, seminars, videos, and radio programs in order to increase our understanding.
When our youngest son was in the throes of adolescence, we were once again faced with the reality that each of our children have their own unique personalities and needs; there was no formula that was right for him just because it might have worked with his older siblings.
We were so fortunate to receive some indispensable guidance in a class that Dr. Ken Wilgus taught. Titled Feeding the Mouth that Bites You, it was practical and time-tested wisdom on how to usher adolescents into adulthood.
I am pleased that Christ Church continues to offer such relevant resources that support families. I encourage parents to take advantage of our Partnering with Parents seminars and Parent Café nights this fall. And don’t miss our Family Fun Night: H2O, an event next Wednesday designed to draw us together through play.
