As you know Fr. Paul recently returned from GAFCON, which was held in Jerusalem. There he joined together with 2,000 Anglican leaders from 50 countries to worship, study, and seek the Lord’s will for the global Anglican movement.
Fr. Paul's heart for mission led him, in the days leading up to the conference, to meet up with church planter Fr. Jess Cantelon. Months ago, both Fr. Paul and Fr. Jess began laying the groundwork for a new ministry: to plant a Hebrew-speaking Anglican church on the road to Emmaus.
Leave it to Fr. Paul to put feet to his faith at a conference where Anglicans considered how they will put feet to their faith.
As they toured through Jerusalem and worshiped together singing Hebrew hymns, our rector witnessed Fr. Jess interacting with locals in their native Hebrew culture. “He’s made for this,” Fr. Paul commented about Fr. Jess’ burning heart for ministry in Israel. In fact, Fr. Jess produces a video series entitled "The Road to Jerusalem," which he describes as "exploring the Holy Land with a Bible and a selfie stick—following Jesus as 'He resolutely set His face towards Jerusalem.' "
“As I flew home from Israel, I had a renewed sense of personal vision for my ministry, and its nothing less than preaching Christ and him crucified until hearts burn and feet follow into mission,” Fr. Paul affirmed in his first sermon back home from Israel.
